Great location, GOOD (rather than 'very good') hotel!
I last stayed here pre pandemic and I think this was my 5th time. I choose it because of the access to the new Elizabeth line, Bakerloo, Circle, District and Hammersmith lines on the Underground, Greater Western Railway (which I take to Chippenham each year) and 15mins direct from LHR on the Heathrow Express.
There are Santander bike hubs nearby, the no. 7 bus out front does a useful route to Portobello Rd/Oxford Street. It's an easy walk to Little Venice canals, Hyde Park and Kensington Park.
I know from experience that if you aren't in a King Executive ($$) the rooms are very small. I love the pod coffee machine as it saves me from dressing and going out while I work online in the mornings.
The rooms were clean. The air con (which was needed during the hot/humid spell) was noisy and ineffective. Opening the window/s = noise, particularly because there's some serious construction going on next door.
There's a choice of pillow types. It's an English thing to have a doona/quilt/duvet on the bed but no top sheet, so when it's warm and stuffy, I ask for one so that I can have a light cover. They look at me oddly but they provide it!
The wifi is not strong or fast which is a drawback if you are working.
After you log on the first time, it regularly forgets you so even though my laptop was left in the room, I had to re-log in regularly. I had to do this on my iPhone every time I re-entered the room. Boring ... surely this could be fixed.I had a few glitches with my booking but this wasn't the hotel's fault. Sabrine at the front desk was excellent and sorted things out for me. The other staff were OK.
They offer bag storage and this is very helfpul.
For the first time I had one night that included a breakfast set menu. I chose the healthiest option and a proper coffee, which they thankfully didn't charge me extra for (because I was saying 'no' to most of the other inclusions).
If I was going to London for leisure, with my husband, as opposed to solo for business, I wouldn't choose to stay here.
The location & facilities were ideal for my travel plans at the time.
The location was the main attraction with access to the Heathrow express.
Lovely welcome
Lovely staff, comfy bed. We had a great sleep. The breakfast was disappointing though and there was some long black hair in the rubber anti slip bath mat (not ours). I advised the hotel of this and they have personally emailed me about it, so I'm happy they will deal appropriately. Very convenient location and not too noisy considering where it is. Would be happy to stay again.
Efficiency and empathy.
We had luggage and flights changed, our reservation was just in time. We were very well attended and welcomed by the managers of the Hotel. Excellent people.
would book again
close to the station; great staff
Good business hotel
Probably my new business hotel as my company have just moved into new offices at Paddington Basin and the Hilton next door is eye wateringly expensive. I had a big room on the first floor at the front which overlooks the quite busy Parade St and the ongoing building work on the station. Secondary glazing means the noise is cut out effectively.
Unfortunately no breakfast available on site - they did give me a voucher to go to a restaurant around the corner but with bags and work laptops and stuff I just went straight to the office
Wonderful Staff
Great location, wonderful room and fantastic staff. Had a great time. Grateful for the recommendations and assistance from Sabrina at the front desk. I was there during the strikes. Great team of people. I can not rate this highly enough. See you next time I’m in London!!!
Overnight stay in London due to rail strike
The staff at this hotel are fantastic, nothing is too much for them. They are all engaging and ready to assist with any enquiry. The hotel itself is situated extremely near to Paddington Station so fantastic for travelling onwards. The room are well kept. The only slight downside is the building work nearby which stops at about 4pm and restarts at 8am - so not too good if you have a room over looking them and are looking for a lie in. Luckily we were not so it did not cause us a problem at all.
Good location, wood use again.
Great place for getting in and out of London centre. Good clean hotel, staff were very helpful, especially Sabrina. The building works out the back of the hotel sometimes noisy during the day.
Would stay again.
Breakfast at F&B next door as part of the booking was fine.
Quick trip to London
This was just an overnight trip, but found this hotel to be really good. It is a stones throw away from Paddington station. The room was small but to a really good standard. Definitely a 4 star. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was very nice. The room was extremely clean. A quick mention to Sabrina, who was on the front desk. She was excellent. Very helpful and welcoming. Great personality and a real asset to the company. Would certainly recommend this hotel if you staying in Central London
